Yang Zi's acting skills are unquestionable and she has successfully transformed from a powerhouse actress. Her portrayal of Xiao Yao in “Long Xiang Si 1” amazed me, especially her beauty. In the drama, the make-up artist skillfully restored her original appearance, and Yang Zi fully displayed her beauty, claiming the title of great emperor and beauty, even though the drama did not explicitly mention that Xiao Yao was the first beauty in the world.

I would like to emphasize that Yang Zi's makeup in Chang Xiang Si is extremely sophisticated, both elegant and high-class.

Yang Zi's name is often associated with high-expectation heroines, but a closer analysis reveals that her acting style is more oriented towards “bitter drama” romance. Can't the intelligent Yang Zi see the limitations of this setting?

I have to recognize her acting talent, and even though Little Earthworm is not the main female character in Ode to Joy, her role is just as important. However, viewers were quite critical of Earthworm's performance, questioning why she was so impulsive in her pursuit of the clearly unreliable Bai Supervisor.

In Dearly Beloved, Yang Zi successfully portrayed Tong Nian in an impressive and distinctive manner. However, when examining her costume dramas such as Xiang Mi, Sinking Fragrance Like Scraps and Long Xiang Si, they all seem to revolve around falling in love.

Especially in “Long Xiang Si”, Xiao Yao's character deviates from the traditional definition of a great heroine. Instead of being an independent and tough woman, she shows more of a fascination and dependence on love. Yang Zi's character pursues idealized love, but neglects self-growth and independence.

This is not to say that such a drama is not desirable, but it makes people reflect on whether “big female lead” is really the same as a strong ego and fearless choices. Yang Zi has demonstrated a deep ability to express her emotions in her role, but her character seems to be tied up in love rather than in control of her own destiny.

This shift doesn't mean that Yang Zi's acting has regressed; rather, it may be that she's trying to break out of herself. She may be exploring how to give her characters deeper substance and diversity while maintaining their charm. Every actor has the right to choose the stories they present, and Yang Zi is no exception.

My favorite character is Min Xiaoliu of Qing Shui Town, who is carefree, lives freely and has his own ideas. However, when Xiao Yao reverts to being a woman, she is always looking to others to make decisions for her and lacks the ability to make active choices.

Overall, as a big female lead actress, Yang Zi's acting skills are commendable, but her character choices also provide us with new perspectives. In the future, we look forward to seeing more possibilities for Yang Zi, not only as a big heroine, but also as a modern woman who is able to carry complex emotions and think independently.
