The heavy maternal love in "If Running Is My Life" both warms Ruohua and...
In the drama If Running is My Life, the story of Chen Ruohua and his mother Zhao Xiuli is like a symphony full of twists and turns and warmth.
Xiu Li (played by Chen Xiaoyi), a mother who once had a happy family, lost her son to a trick of fate.
Her world has since turned gray, and the only thing that keeps her going is her daughter Chen Ruohua (played by Yang Chao).
However, this deep motherly love, it is both like a ray of sunshine that warms Ruohua's heart and like a sharp sword that pierces her soul. It makes one feel both deeply loved and cared for, but also difficult to bear the pressure and weight of it.
[01]
Xiuli loved Ruohua deeply, a love so strong that she wanted to give her daughter all her care and expectations. She longed for Ruohua to have the best life possible, and for that, she spared no effort.
Every morning, when Ruohua was still lingering in her dreamland, Xiuli was already busy preparing a rich breakfast for her daughter. When Ruohua comes home late at night from work, Xiu Li is always at the door of her house, waiting anxiously until she sees that her daughter has returned safely and is relieved.
Xiu Li was very attentive to Ruohua's studies, life and emotions, and always cared for her in every possible way. Gradually, however, this excessive concern makes Ruohua feel bound, as if she were chained.
Ruohua is a very opinionated girl who pursues her dreams. She especially wants to live freely and fall in love as her friends around her do.
But Xiu Li's controlling nature makes Ruo Hua feel oppressed. She always used worry as a reason to meddle in Ruohua's every choice. This made Ruohua feel unable to breathe freely.
Ruohua wanted to go to clubs, but Xiuli was worried that it would interfere with her studies. Similarly, when Ruohua wanted to go on a trip with her friends, Xiu Li was worried about her safety. In short, Xiuli was always worried that Ruohua would make decisions that would be bad for her.
Every time we tried to resist or fight for something, Xiu Li would instead become more opposed and controlling.
In that breathless environment, Ruohua had to start making up lies to deal with her mother.
[02].
Ruohua didn't actually intend to deceive her mother, she just wanted a little personal space and freedom of her own, a need that everyone has when growing up.
On the surface, she said she was going back to school to revise the manuscript for the school magazine, but in fact she was going to participate in roller-skating activities, enjoying the excitement and thrill brought by that kind of speedy skating.
She didn't actually go on a business trip with Ms. Yang from the department, but chose to go to Qingdao for an interview with Zhou Kaize. She wanted to experience the passion and challenge of that job for herself, so she lied a little. However, her purpose was also to better fulfill her work assignment, feel the different working atmosphere, and improve her professionalism.
These lies built an invisible wall between Ruohua and her mother, making the distance between them grow further and further. These untrue words, like a double-edged sword, hurt his mother's trust and made Ruohua feel guilty and miserable. This barrier between them was like a transparent wall, invisible but hard to overcome. The lies make their bond complex and fragile, and it takes more understanding and communication to break down this invisible barrier.
Ruohua's days are enriched by the arrival of Zhou Kaize.
He is a vibrant and hot-blooded teenager, and his arrival makes Ruohua feel happy and free after a long time.
They work side by side and spend joyful times together, sharing both their joys and sorrows with each other without reservation.
However, this relationship is strongly opposed by Xiuli.
In Xiuli's opinion, Zhou Kaize is not a good match for Ruohua. She is worried about her daughter being hurt and her future.
Although Xiu Li wanted to protect her daughter, the way she used failed to take into account her daughter's true thoughts and needs. She may feel that she is doing the right thing, but fails to realize that it may not be right for her daughter. Sometimes, parents' protectiveness may make them ignore their children's inner needs. I hope Xiu Li can realize this and find a better way to communicate with her daughter.
In the face of her mother's opposition and interference, Ruohua felt immense pain and helplessness.
She loved her mother deeply, but at the same time, she longed for freedom and love. She had tried to communicate with her mother frankly, hoping to get understanding and support, but every attempt ended in disappointment. She knew that her mother had her own expectations and ideas, while her heart longed for a different life. This contradiction and struggle made her feel miserable, but she remained firm in her belief that the future would be better if she stuck to her choice.
Xiu Li has always stuck to her own views and is less willing to listen to Ruohua's thoughts and feelings. She always sticks to her own views and doesn't
