The Long Wind Breaks the Waves is a Republican espionage drama produced by CCTV and Aiki, co-produced by Ruyi Pictures, Enlightenment Pictures, and Oriental Panorama, directed by Yao Xiaofeng, written by Weng Liangping, and starring Wang Yibo, Li Qin, and Wang Yang, and Zhang Tianyang and Gao Lu, with a special guest appearance by Wang Xueqi, and a friendly appearance by Yang Kun. Set in 1930's Shanghai, "The Long Wind and the Waves" is the moving story of Wei Ruolai, an employee of the Central Bank of the Kuomintang, who joins an underground organization and fights against the enemy on the economic front. The drama was broadcast on March 21, 2024 on the CCTV Golden Powerhouse Theater .

Synopsis: In 1930's Shanghai, Wei Ruolai, as an ordinary employee of the Central Bank of the Kuomintang, is gradually recognized by Shen Tunan, a senior advisor, for his outstanding working ability. In the process, Wei Ruolai sees a lot of corruption and darkness in the financial field of the Kuomintang. In the midst of his uncertainty and bitterness, Communist Party member Shen Jinzhen illuminated Wei Ruolai's heart with the guiding light of Marxism, and the different choices he made led to his eventual parting of ways with Shen Tunan.
